My interest in analog photography really took off after my BA program, with the purchase of a Minolta X700 at an estate sale. The title of Shadowboxing comes from some of the personal connotations of the brand, rendering the term psychologically. As well, the term Shadowboxing pulls from the “camera obscura,” the “dark room” that eventually became the basis for modern photography. Grappling with these ambiguities served as a fun exploration.
