Who is Joshua H. Phelps?

I am a photographer and writer from the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I have had the good fortune to be able to explore areas of the US, such as the West Coast, Southwest, and Deep South. My travels have also taken me to Germany, Austria, and other European countries. These experiences have fueled ideas for a range of photographs, poems, short stories, and longer fictional works.

While my photographic interests are primarily documentary, such as architecture and landscape, I have been pushing myself to explore other genres. I studied photography at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin (formerly Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule), using the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the medium.

In addition to poems and fiction, I also wrote articles for a Berlin-based startup called Blinkist. My topics spanned a wide array, though I also had a more focused column looking at creativity on Blinkist Magazine which ran for several months from 2018-19.
